Landfill Pollution Plume Survey in the Moroccan Tadla Using Spontaneous Potential

چکیده
In many parts of the world, impact open landfills on soils, biosphere, and groundwater has become a major concern. These frequently generate pollution plumes, contours which can be delineated by non-intrusive geophysical measurements, but in arid environments, high soils resistivity is usually an obstacle, results low number studies that have been carried out there. addition, such prospecting using techniques do not provide information intensity processes occurring water table. This study was uncontrolled landfill Tadla plain, Morocco’s main agricultural region. A survey based geo-referenced spontaneous potential measurements combined with anoxic conditions (Eh-pH O2 equilibrating partial pressure) leachates, order to highlight plume its geometry. The range measurement wide, reaching 155 mV. Ponds leachate electrical conductivity (20 40 mS cm−1) form within landfill, present very reducing down sulphate reduction methanisation. slowly continuously supplied these highly organic carbon-rich leachates from landfill. Its direction towards N-NW, stable throughout season, consistent local knowledge flow. fast flow table suggests over long distances should monitored future. obtained are spatially contrasting stable, show used resistive medium environments.

Study of spontaneous crystalluria on a series of patients in the Tadla Azilal Moroccan area.
OBJECTIVES There are few studies on crystalluria in the developing countries. The aim of the present study was carrying out a first study in Morocco on the frequency and the chemical nature of the crystalluria according to the sex and the age of human individuals living in the Tadla Azilal moroccan area. METHOD 200 samples resulting from the morning urines of morning fasting individuals of th...
متن کاملAnaerobic methane oxidation in a landfill-leachate plume.
The alluvial aquifer adjacent to Norman Landfill, OK, provides an excellent natural laboratory for the study of anaerobic processes impacting landfill-leachate contaminated aquifers. We collected groundwaters from a transect of seven multilevel wells ranging in depth from 1.3 to 11 m that were oriented parallel to the flow path. The center of the leachate plume was characterized by (1) high alk...
متن کاملBiogeochemical evolution of a landfill leachate plume, Norman, Oklahoma.
Leachate from municipal landfills can create groundwater contaminant plumes that may last for decades to centuries. The fate of reactive contaminants in leachate-affected aquifers depends on the sustainability of biogeochemical processes affecting contaminant transport. Temporal variations in the configuration of redox zones downgradient from the Norman Landfill were studied for more than a dec...
متن کاملMercury Pollution Characteristics in the Soil around Landfill
In recent years, landfill and incineration of waste is considered a new mercury pollution, which is paid widespread attention by domestic and foreign scientists. This paper studies mercury pollution Characteristics in the soil around Landfill taking landfill in Huainan City for an example and using AMA 254 Advanced Mercury Analyzer produced by US LECO Company. The result shows that: mercury con...
متن کاملUse of the landfill water pollution index (LWPI) for groundwater quality assessment near the landfill sites
The purpose of the paper is to assess the groundwater quality near the landfill sites using landfill water pollution index (LWPI). In order to investigate the scale of groundwater contamination, three landfills (E, H and S) in different stages of their operation were taken into analysis. Samples of groundwater in the vicinity of studied landfills were collected four times each year in the perio...
